If you are renting a unit in a four story or a multistoried complex, then you pay maintenance. The maintenance will be used to pay the sewer bills. However, you still need to pay the water bill.
If you are renting a unit where the landlord also lives, then you would either share the bills or you will be paying for water only. Sewer bills would be included in the monthly rent. In such a case, all maintenance work would be undertaken by the landlord only.
